Privacy Policy

Dead Signal · published by Whale Corp · Last updated: July 2, 2026

1. Overview

This privacy policy applies to Dead Signal (the "game"), a co-op zombie survival game developed and published by Whale Corp, available on Android and PC. It explains what data the game handles, why, and what happens to it.

The short version: Dead Signal is designed to collect as little as possible. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics trackers, and no in-app purchases. We do not sell, share, or monetize any data.

2. Data stored on your device

The game saves a small amount of data locally on your device so it can function:

  • Username — the display name you choose for multiplayer. You can pick any name; it does not need to be your real name.
  • Game settings and preferences — options you set in the game.
  • A session reconnection token — a random identifier that lets you reclaim your character if you disconnect during an online game. It contains no personal information.

This data never leaves your device except as described in section 3, and is deleted when you uninstall the game.

3. Data processed when you play online

Multiplayer is optional. If you join an online game, the following is processed to make the session work:

  • Your username — sent to the game server and shown to the other players in your session (in the lobby, in-game, and on the session leaderboard).
  • Your IP address — used by the game server to establish and maintain the network connection, as with any online game. It is used only for this technical purpose.
  • Gameplay session data — your character's position, inventory, health and session stats, kept in the server's memory while the session runs.

Retention: session data lives in the server's memory only for the duration of the session and is discarded when the session ends or the server restarts. We keep no player database and no long-term logs of who played.

4. What we do NOT collect

  • No account creation, no email address, no phone number.
  • No real names, no contacts, no location data.
  • No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
  • No analytics or tracking SDKs.
  • No in-app purchases and no payment data.
  • No access to your files, camera, microphone, or contacts.
  • We do not sell or share any data with third parties.

5. Google Play

If you install the game through Google Play, Google may process data as the app store platform (downloads, crash statistics, etc.) under its own privacy policy. That processing is controlled by Google, not by us. See Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Children

Dead Signal does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The only user-provided data is a freely chosen display name. We recommend that all players — especially younger ones — choose a username that does not reveal personal information.

7. Your choices

  • You can play entirely offline (solo) — in that case, no data leaves your device at all.
  • You can change your username at any time in the game.
  • Uninstalling the game removes all locally stored data.

8. Changes to this policy

If the game gains features that change how data is handled (for example, online accounts or cloud saves), this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date revised before those features ship.
